Note: Before each workshop we guide the youth in a moment of meditation and gratitude announcements. This helps the youth to connect to joyful thoughts and demonstrates to them how to self-regulate their emotions. After each workshop we give space for the youth to participate in a structured sporting activity to help foster a healthy mindset and pro-social behavior.
In order to help our youth and families meet their daily needs, we have partnered with over 50 community-based organizations that provide a wide variety of low cost/no-cost services. These services include, mental health and substance abuse treatment, unhoused and food scarcity assistance, dental treatment, financial services, foster care services, father support groups, human trafficking prevention, medical vocational training and many more
With the rise of Fentanyl-related overdoses occurring throughout America, understanding how to help youth live a joyful, drug free life is more urgent than ever before. This interactive training has been carefully designed to help school staff and parents provide youth with relevant and relatable information to encourage them avoid the pitfalls of drug addiction.
Our partner, Jimmy Cabrera Jr, LCSW,
works with people to begin to feel safe again in the world, with others, and within their bodies. Using a variety of methods, Jimmy gently helps youth approach the threshold, the scary or upsetting feelings or memories, and work toward helping them not just tolerating the sensations or impulses but become an incredibly stronger person as a result.
Our partner, Jose Yenque of Arts for a Better Tomorrow (ABT) brings an alternative rehabilitative and therapeutic arts-based program like no other in North America. ABT has undertaken the challenge to positively impact the lives of underprivileged youth through the arts in a unique format devised by actor and director José Yenque. He saw a need to address the transition into adulthood of abandoned youth, using the arts as tools to help them overcome traumas and learning barriers. Thus, ABT is ensuring that they are better prepared for life. ABT gained nonprofit status in 2014, but for 12 years prior, it had been running successful independent and privately funded programs in Southern California and Baja California.
